Ranchi, April 11: As many as 36 Zila Parishad chairpersons, 365 Panchayat Samiti members, 305 Mukhiyas and 3,631 ward members will be elected in the three-tier Panchayat elections which are to be held in four phases in a total of 305 panchayats in Ranchi district.
The total number of polling stations in the Ranchi district will be 3,631.
Addressing a press conference today, District Election Officer (Panchayat) cum Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan gave detailed information about the preparation for the three-tier Panchayat elections in the district. He said that with the announcement of the elections, the model code of conduct has come into force from Saturday. Action will be taken against those who violate the code of conduct, he added.
This is how elections will be held:
First Stage:- Tamar, Bundu, Sonahatu, Rahe
- Number of Panchayat- 57
- Number of Zilla Parishad Members – 7
- Number of Panchayat Samiti Members- 65
- Number of Mukhiyas – 57
- Number of Wards – 648
- Number of Polling Stations – 648
Second stage: Kanke, Nagri, Itki, Bero, Lapung
- Number of Panchayat- 82

Third stage:- Silli, Anagada, Namkum, Ormanjhi

The Panchayat level voters’ list has been prepared under the Ranchi district. The total number of voters is 13,84,890 out of which 7,01,021 are male voters and 6,83,852 are female voters. The number of third gender voters is 17.
Regarding the preparation for the Panchayat elections, the DC said that this time a strong room will be made in Pandara Bazar Committee and Girls’ High School, Bundu.
Counting of votes will take place at both these places. He said that 2,288 police officers, 5,390 constables, and 21,560 constable police will be deployed for the conduct of elections. 14 cells have also been formed in the district for the elections.
For the successful completion of Panchayat elections in the Ranchi district, about 1,490 small and big vehicles will be required. It is from these vehicles that the polling personnel and police force will be transported and brought to the booth for conducting the polls. The vehicle requirement has been assessed at the district level. Under this, 730 big buses and 760 small vehicles will be needed. The Deputy Commissioner said that the numbers may also change as the elections approach.
