Ranchi, April 2: Leaders and workers of the Jharkhand Congress held a massive demonstration at the Raj Bhavan against the price hike of the essential products affecting the life of the common people. Jharkhand Congress in-charge Avinash Pande, ministers and party MLAs, office bearers, and workers joined the demonstration.

“We are raising the matter of the common people at a time when the BJP and the Prime Minister have given a call of Congress-free India. But we give a call of India minus price hike. This is the difference between the BJP and the Congress. Across the country, Congress workers have hit the road today for the public cause and we will continue to fight for people,” Pande said.

The demonstration was part of the national level programme of the Congress to mobilize public opinion and pressurize the government to give relief to people from unchecked price hikes. Similar demonstrations were organized at the district level.

The Congress said that the BJP always befooled people with its double face. “Before elections, Prime Minister Modi will hold rallies and promise people to give them facilities, including free food grain. But moment elections conclude the BJP government increases prices,” he said. Minister Alamgir Alam said that the Congress was doing its duty to make the BJP and the PM realize the sufferings of the common people.

Jharkhand Congress president Rajesh Thakur said that during the elections Modi becomes the face of the BJP. “And after elections, Modi takes the back seat and people have to face price hikes,” he said. The party said that the BJP has taken its electoral victory as the license to fleece people.

“After elections, prices of essential commodities are increased. The BJP has taken electoral victory as a license to increase the prices of essential commodities. The prices of petroleum and LPG have exorbitantly been increased. The BJP is only answerable to its corporate friends,” said Mahgama MLA Dipika Pandey Singh.
