New Delhi, Nov 16: Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, announced that Twitter Blue will be revived on November 29 less than a week after it was put on hold. This is only a slight deviation from his original, provisional schedule, which said that he would resume service by the end of the following week.
“All unpaid legacy Blue checkmarks will be removed in a few months,” Musk said in a tweet reply.
This means that accounts that earlier had verified blue ticks will now have to pay to maintain their verified status
With the new release, changing someone’s verified name will cause the loss of the blue check until the name is confirmed by Twitter to meet the terms of service.
Notably on November 9, Twitter launched the blue membership, which costs customers $8 a month and is available in a number of other nations as well. The programme, which provided users with a validated badge for free, cost $7.99 in the US. It most likely cost Rs 719 in India.
