Daltonganj, June 14: The outsourcing agency, which handles the issues and concerns of examinations of the Nilamber Pitamber University in Daltonganj, is taking the university in the wrong way, according to sources.
Sources said the agency is setting a record of error and folly at regular intervals, causing extreme resentment among the students and the examinees who then vent ire on either the controller of the examinations of the university or on the two top brasses- vice-chancellor and pro-vice-chancellor of NPU.
There is hardly a day in the university when students and examinees do not gherao the controller of the examinations.
The latest error and folly committed by this agency is related to the admit card. The outsourcing agency mentioned the wrong timing of the examinations of the UG and PG courses.
The agency advanced the timing of both the examinations by one hour. The university had notified that the examinations will start at 9 am which was written to be started one hour before i.e. 8 am.
Sources said this mess-up affected the second sitting timing as well which also got pushed by one hour.
Pro VC Dr Deep Narayan Yadav said, “Our controller of the university examinations Dr Jabbar Khan had on June 7 directed this agency to rectify the timing and to make it in tune with the notified scheduled timing of the examination which was in two slots- 9 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 5 pm.
Yadav said the agency did not bother to rectify the error and on Monday, June 13, when the examinees tried to download their admit cards, they noticed the folly in the timing of the examination.
The Pro VC said the university will be forced to take strict action against the lackadaisical attitude of the agency. He conceded that the reputation of any university rests on its examination but this agency is taking liberty with it.
The national executive committee member of the ABVP Vineet Pandey said if the agency does not stop its irresponsible act and harassment that it metes out to students and examinees, ABVP will seek the help of Lok Adalat to set it right.
Vineet Pandey said downloading admit cards is not an easy task here as examinees have to wait for hours at the cyber cafe for downloading them which did not materialise. Pandey said such harassments of the examinees are unpardonable and the agency will have to face judicial intervention.
A girl examinee phoned this correspondent from a cyber cafe at Belwatiker Chowk on Monday night complaining that she spent two hours waiting for downloading her PG admit card but could not succeed.
She quipped who would be responsible for making her lose her precious time when she could have utilised every hour for final touches to her PG papers’ examinations.
A senior advocate whose daughter is a student of this university said, “There is a limit to the patience of the parents. Sometimes I am inclined to lodge a complaint case against NPU with the chief judicial magistrate here as this university has no care and concern for the career of its students.”
The advocate requesting anonymity said that the academic sessions in this university are exceptionally late unlike other universities which have overcome its late sessions to a great extent.
