Expansion of National Commission’s role is need of the hour: PM Modi

New Delhi, Jan 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday addresses the 30th National Commission for Women (NCW) Foundation Day program via video conferencing. The theme of the program is ‘She The Change Maker’, aimed at celebrating the achievements of women in different fields.

“Nowadays women are providing jobs to people. Govt is supporting women through various schemes like Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana. Women’s role is continuously expanding. Therefore, the expansion of the role of the National Commission for Women is also need of the hour,” said PM Modi.

“All the women’s commissions of the country will also have to increase their scope and give a new direction to the women of their state. Women are choosing their own future. The number of drop out from schools has also decreased,” he added.

During the ceremony, Smriti Irani, the Union Minister for Women and Child Development, was also present. Rekha Sharma, Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, attended the ceremony alongside Smirti Irani.
