Dhanbad, Dec 28: The Dhanbad district administration has made it mandatory for the ultrasound clinics to fill up form ‘F’ under PC- PNDT Act from January 1.

Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sandip Singh today issued a notification in this regard saying that under the Pre- Conception and  Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PC and PNDT) Act, all ultrasound clinics have to load form’ F’ in the ‘Garima Jharkhand’ website from January 1, 2022. If any institution fails to file the form,  action would be taken against them as per the Act.

“As per the Act, all ultrasound clinics have to fill up form ‘F’ in website uri-pc & pndt.jharkhand but it has been noticed that none of them do it. So, it has been made mandatory from January 1, 2022,” said the DC.

Form ‘F’ of PC and PNDT Act is to show maintenance of records of ultrasound machines.

A senior  medical officer of the health department said that mandatory form ‘F’filling would help in checking misuse (sex determination) of ultrasound machines by the operators.

There are 74 ultrasound clinics in Dhanbad. As per the official record, the sex ratio in Dhanbad is 918 girls per thousand boys.

DC Sandip Singh in his notification has also directed the ultrasound clinics to submit the hard copy of form’ F’  in the district PC & PNDT office of the health department besides filing it online on the state website.

This notification has been issued on the directive of the Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Arun Kumar Singh. Earlier on December 23, he had directed the DCs of all 24 districts to ensure the filling up of form ‘ F’ from January 1, 2022 by the ultrasound clinics.
