Ranchi, Dec.28: Congress state president Rajesh Thakur resolved to ensure implementation of anti-mob lynching laws in letter and spirit in Jharkhand in the New Year.
He shared his New Year resolution with Lagatar24.com saying he as party chief in the state will never allow the ‘mob system’ to dominate democracy and leave no stone unturned to get properly implemented.
“Anti-mob lynching bill has been passed from the assembly. Now I as party chief in the state will ensure how this new law is implemented in letter and spirit in the state and common people can live in a better atmosphere and feel safe,” Thakur said.
While sharing his new resolution he also said ‘those who are opposing the new law have now been exposed as they had been mobilizing the mob mechanism through hate messages on Whatsapp and finding themselves cornered.’
Thakur shared his list of other New Year resolutions saying bringing smiles on the faces of farmers, youths, entrepreneurs and all other people of the state who suffered a lot during the corona pandemic also included in it.
Apart from this, Thakur said, a list of other New Year resolutions include check on migration of labourers, proper share to the party workers in the governance, control on ground level corruption, ensuring Sarna code column in census form and 27 percent reservation to backward classes in government jobs and other facilities.
Asked to explain proper share in governance, Thakur said: “Congress party workers have also played their role in the formation of the UPA government in the state. It is my duty to ensure that they get proper opportunity to work on various levels of governance in the state and thus it is one of my New Year resolutions.”
Explaining grass-root level corruption, Thakur said: “In top-level corruption senior officers and those approaching senior officers for adopting corrupt practices both get benefitted but at the grass root level only government officials get benefitted. Thus putting a check on grass-root level is more important and for that, we want vigilance committees at grass root level.”
