New Delhi, Feb 1: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the union budget for 2022-23 in Parliament today at 11 a.m., amid hopes that measures to boost the economy and address growing inflation and unemployment will be presented.
The budget will be presented in Lok Sabha, with the finance minister presenting a statement of the government’s expected receipts and expenditures for 2022-23.
Sitharaman will table the budget in the Rajya Sabha one hour after the budget presentation in the Lok Sabha concludes.
She will also table, a copy each (in English and Hindi) of medium-term fiscal policy cum fiscal policy strategy statement and macro-economic framework statement under section 3 (1) of the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) Act, 2003.
Meanwhile, Pankaj Chaudhary, the minister of state for finance, told reporters that Sitharaman will deliver an inclusive budget that will meet the demands of all sectors. Bhagwat Karad, Chaudhary’s colleague at the Ministry of Finance, was also present at the event.
