Chatra, May 12: When two brothers were busy in taking ‘saat phere’ in a temple in the neighbouring Latehar district, their house in Asnalewad village under Teliadih panchayat of Tandwa block caught fire. Firefighters reached there on time but by the time flames doused, the house was completely gutted. The two brothers returned to their village with their newlywed wife, all the rituals were performed in the gutted house and their neighbours gave them shelter last night in their homes.

Sources said two brothers namely Ranjeet Kumar Yadav and Sanjeet Kumar Yadav, both farmers and son of one Indradev Yadav were getting married in the Bhagwati temple of Latehar on Wednesday night. As ‘saat phere’ was going on, they got a call from their elder brother Jitendra Yadav about the fire in the house. Jitendra told them that fire had gutted the house completely and everything kept inside. Jitendra said he noticed the fire on the second floor of the house all of a sudden and alerted the villagers. Firefighters were informed and it took several hours to douse the flames which gutted the house and the household items as well.

Hearing this news, maximum of the family took the return journey immediately to their village. But on the advice of the families of grooms and brides, marriage continued.

On Thursday, when the duo brothers returned to their village with their brides, they remained shocked to see their gutted house. All rituals related to ‘dwar pravesh’ were performed in the gutted house. All those present there, right from the families and relatives to villagers were seen crying. Both the grooms said the fire has shattered their dreams. They said they are starting their new lives and see what has happened. They lost their house and whatever they have earned all these years, they added with tears rolling down their cheeks. Sab barbad ho gaya, they commented.

Seeing the problem of the family, neighbours came forward and provided shelter to the family including the newlywed couples in their house.

Today, Ishwar Dayal Pandey, representative of BJP MP Sunil Singh met the family and provided them with foodgrains. Pandey said other than foodgrains, he gave them soap, bedsheets and quilt. Pandey told Lagatar24.com that he had informed Singh as well as Simaria MLA Kishun Das. The brothers talked to officials to help them get their house constructed. Officials had assured us to provide the help soon, he added.
