Five of a family die as vehicle falls into canal in Deoghar

Deoghar, Oct 24: Five members of a family including a three-month-old girl and a two-year-old boy have died after drowning of the vehicle in which they were travelling in a canal of Sikatiya Baraj under Chitra Police station located in Sarath block of Deoghar on Tuesday early morning.

As per information, the deceased are Mukesh, husband of Lovely, Kaushal Choudhary, brother of Lovely and two minors. All were going to Basdih of Giridih the home town of Mukesh from village Asansol under Chitra police station. The vehicle might have jumped into the canal after the driver lost control.

According to Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Ziaul Haq, Kaushal was brought first to the hospital but after examination, he was found as brought dead and soon after the bodies of minors and two adults were also found to be brought dead.

The CMO has claimed that all died of drowning. Talking to lagatar24.com, the police station officer has confirmed the incident. Ironically, the driver of the vehicle escaped unhurt in the accident. Notably, Mukesh was bringing his wife and two children from his in-laws’s house as Dussehra had been suggested as a suitable day.
