Ranchi, Mar 21: The condition of former MP and Bihar Minister RK Rana, who is convicted in the fodder scam case, has become critical where doctors at Rajendra Institute of Medical Science are preparing to refer him for higher treatment to Delhi.
On March 15, he was brought to RIMS from Birsa Munda Central Jail Hotwar for treatment. In view of his critical condition, he has been admitted to the New Trauma Center of RIMS where he is being treated on the ventilator.
According to the information, RK Rana has an infection in the liver because of which his condition is said to be critical.
A board of senior doctors of RIMS has been formed to check the health of RK Rana. The board comprises the HODs of the departments of critical care, medicine, ENT, surgery, cardiology and nephrology. After the investigation, the doctors have submitted the report to the Medical Superintendent of RIMS, after which the further process will be completed.
Significantly, on February 21, along with Lalu Prasad Yadav, the CBI court has also sentenced RK Rana to 5 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 60 lakhs. In such a situation, before taking Rana for higher treatment, orders will have to be taken from the Jail IG. Security personnel will be deployed after getting the order of the Jail IG, after which he will be able to go to Delhi.
