Dilip Tirkey praised the COA president Dr. SY Quraishi and the International Hockey Federation (FIH) for a smooth election process and expressed trust in his ability to advance hockey in the nation.
After the Delhi High Court intervened over an alleged infringement of the National Sports Code, the FIH and the Committee of Administrators, which was in charge of Hockey India’s activities, ordered that the elections be finished by October 9.
With up to 412 caps, Dilip Tirkey is one of the nation’s most distinguished hockey players. The 44-year-old was a member of the 1996, 2000, and 2004 Olympic teams and previously served as the men’s hockey team captain for India. Additionally, he was a member of the 2003 and 2007 Asia Cup-winning squads.
In the meantime, Bola Nath Singh was named Hockey India’s Secretary-General.
