Ranchi: Former Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan has been shifted from Birsa Munda Central Jail to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for treatment after complaining of chest pain. Jail doctors conducted an initial medical examination and later referred him to RIMS for further evaluation.
Chhavi Ranjan has been in jail in connection with a land scam and money laundering case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested him, following which he was sent to judicial custody as per the court’s orders. He is an accused in two money laundering cases, and while he has secured bail in one, he remains in custody for the other.
