New Delhi, Jan 25: Congress leader and former Union Minister RPN Singh resigns from the party on Tuesday. He tenders his resignation to the Party president Sonia Gandhi.
“I hereby tender my resignation from the primary members of the Indian National Congress with immediate effect. I thank you for providing me opportunity to serve the nation, people and the party,” said Singh in his resignation.

Meanwhile, according to reports he will likely join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at 3 pm ahead of next month’s assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh.
Singh, who lost the 2017 assembly elections in Padrauna, is consider to be close to the Gandhis. On January 24, his name was featured in a list of Congress’ top campaigners for the UP elections.
