Jamshedpur, Sept 30: Fourth persons were arrested for committing robbery at a house in Sundarnagar thana area by impersonating themselves as IT sleuths on September 24.
Those arrested were identified as Ajay Purti (34), a resident of Seraikela-Kharsawan, Kandey Tiria (35) and Kamlesh Tiria (40), both residents of West Singhbhum, and Pramit Purti (37), a resident of Mosabani.
While arresting the four, the police seized three SUVs, a gas-cutting machine, screw driver, hammer and other equipment from their possession.
Revealing about the breakthrough, senior superintendent of police, Kaushal Kishore said that there were in all seven persons, including a woman who had come to commit robbery in the house of a widow, M Merry at Dongradih under Sundarnagar thana area on September 24 morning.
“While four persons had entered into the house impersonating themselves as IT sleuths three others were standing guard outside the house. The criminals had decamped with Rs 8,000 cash and huge quantity of gold ornaments having taken the widow and her daughter as hostage on the plea of conductive the IT raid, ” said Kaushal while address a press conference on Saturday.
The senior SP said the arresting was made after a special team was set up, adding that attempts are on to arrest the remaining three accused.
