Jamshedpur, June 10: The police on Saturday arrested four persons, including a woman in the Sadakat Gaddi alias Mohan Gaddi murder case registered with the Potka thana on June 7.
Those arrested were identified as Mintu Sao, Bibha Devi, Kritibas Koibarto and Sinkadar Kumar.
Revealing in a press conference this afternoon, SP (Rural), Mukesh Kumar Lunayat said that the murder was committed in a sequel to an illicit relationship between a woman who is a resident of Naya Bustee in Bagbera locality of the city.
“Gaddi (28) who was a resident of Jugsalai Gaddi Mohalla had developed illicit relations with Bibha Devi. Six months ago, Bibha’s husband Mintu Sao came to know it following which the woman tried to end the illicit relationship. But Gaddi became more and more aggressive against the woman. It was after his such behaviour that both Bibha and Mintu decided to do away with Gaddi, ” said Lunayat while talking to the media.
The Rural SP said Mintu Sao gave a contract to Kritibas Koibarto for the murder of Gaddi. In this act, Sikandar Kumar of Kitadih Gwala Bustee helped the couple.
The senior police officer said on June 6, Gaddi was called to go to Potka where Sikandar, Mintu and Koibarto made him consume liquor. When the victim was drunk, Koibarto strangulated him to death by using a gear wire.
The police had recovered the body on June 7 morning.
