Fresh violence erupts in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, locals pelts stones at cops

New Delhi, April 18: Fresh violence occurred in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri. A stone-pelting incident has been recorded in the vicinity. This follows a communal confrontation in the region on Saturday evening during a Hanuman Jayanti procession.

A Delhi lawyer earlier today,  has written to India’s Chief Justice, NV Ramana, demanding him to investigate the Jahangirpuri violence.

Notably on Saturday evening, during a Hanuman Jayanti parade in Jahangirpuri, northwest Delhi, clashes erupted between two communities. Stones were thrown and many vehicles were set on fire, according to the police. The violence resulted in the injuries of several people, including numerous police officers. At the parade, swords and other weapons were allegedly brandished.
