Fuel rates hiked for fourth consecutive day

Petrol in Delhi reached Rs 102.45 and diesel at Rs 90.83

New Delhi, October 3: The prices of petrol and diesel are soaring at an all-time high across the country. The state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) have once again revised the fuel rates on October 3, making it the fourth consecutive day for rising fuel prices.. State-owned oil companies have increased the price of diesel by 30 paise and petrol by 25 paise per liter in Delhi today. After this, petrol has reached Rs 102.45 and diesel at Rs 90.83 per liter here. Petrol has become costlier by Rs 1.10 and diesel by Rs 1.11 in the last 4 days.

Anuj Gupta, Vice President (Commodity & Currency), IIFL Securities says that due to increased demand for crude oil, it can go up to $ 80 in the coming days. Due to this, the price of petrol and diesel can increase by 2 to 3 rupees. Petrol was Rs 83.97 and diesel Rs 74.12 per liter on January 1 this year. Now it is at Rs 102.45 and Rs 90.83 per liter. That is, petrol has become costlier by Rs 18.48 and diesel by Rs 16.71 in less than 9 months.

In Mumbai, petrol is selling for Rs 108.43 per liter, which is costlier by 24 paise and diesel costs Rs 98.48 for one liter, an increase by 32 paise. In Chennai, a liter of petrol is priced at Rs 100.01, which is an increase of 21 paise. On Sunday, the price of a liter of diesel was Rs 95.31 per liter, a rise of 29 paise.

Similarly, Petrol in Kolkata costs Rs 103.07 per liter, which is costlier by 30 paise while diesel costs Rs 93.87 a liter, which is also expensive by 30 paise. While in Bhopal, petrol can be bought at Rs 110.88, hiked by 25 paise and diesel costs Rs 99.73 per liter, raised by 32 paise.
