Gangster Akhilesh Singh acquitted in Jamshedpur shoe baron’s murder case

Jamshedpur, Aug 22: The court of additional district judge – IV on Tuesday acquitted gangster Akhilesh Singh in the Ashish Dey murder case by giving him benefits of doubt in the case.

The gangster, who is presently lodged in Dumka central jail, had allegedly conspired the murder of Dey at Aam Bagaan under Sakchi thana area on November 2, 2007 morning.

Akhilesh Singh was being separately tried in the case as the court had already convicted three accused name Amlesh Singh (Akhilesh’s brother), Vinod Singh and Pappu Donn and had sentenced them to life imprisonment.

Vinod Singh who is a hotelier and transporter, has, however, obtained bail from the Supreme Court whereas two other convicts are serving their jail terms in the Ghaghidih central jail.

Shoe Barron and owner of Sree Leathers, Ashish Dey had been gunned down by a gang of bike-borne criminals while he was on his way to his showroom in Sakchi in the morning of that fateful day.
