New Delhi, March 4: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached five homes held by members of the organised crime syndicates in Delhi and Haryana, dealing yet another blow to the multi-state terrorist-gangster-drug smuggler network.
One property is in Delhi and four others are in Haryana, continuing the NIA’s campaign to break up the terrorist-gangster-drug smuggler network.
Following recent searches at 76 locations connected with gangsters and their associates in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Delhi/NCR in February of this year, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) reported that these attachments and seizures have been made.
These properties were seized in connection with an investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against three significant organised crime groups in August 2022. These groups had established mafia-style criminal networks in the northern states and were responsible for numerous high-profile crimes, including the murder of well-known singer Sidhu Moosewala and widespread extortions from businessmen and professionals.
Sanjay Biyani, a builder from Maharashtra, and Sandeep Nangal Ambia, a global Kabbadi organiser from Punjab, were killed as a result of their crimes. It was discovered that many of these plots were organised from abroad, notably Pakistan and Canada, or by leaders of organised crime syndicates who were based in prisons.
