Kyiv, Feb 27: Even after three days of war, Ukrainian forces are still putting up a valiant fight to hold off the larger and more powerful Russian military from advancing on Kyiv.
On Saturday, the United Nations verified that at least 240 civilians had died. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has resulted in some frightening military conflict footage.
On Sunday morning, Russia’s assault on Kyiv resumed, with two enormous explosions lighting up the night sky south of the Ukrainian capital. The second explosion rocked the southwestern part of Kyiv just before 1 a.m. (local time), CNN reported. While one detonation appeared to be about 20 kilometres, or about 12 miles, from the city centre, CNN reported that the first detonation appeared to be about 20 kilometres, or about 12 miles, from the city centre.
A gas pipeline in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, was also blown up by Russian soldiers. Residents should cover their windows with damp cloth or gauze and drink plenty of fluids, according to the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection, which warned that the explosion, which appeared like a mushroom cloud, may cause a “environmental catastrophe.”

At the same time, the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection’s Telegram channel issued a warning against misinformation, claiming that the explosion was not a nuclear strike, despite its appearance.
In the early hours of Sunday, heavy shelling was reported in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s easternmost city. Russian missiles even hit the Ukrainian town of Vasylkiv southwest of Kyiv, setting an oil terminal ablaze. Photographs and video posted online showed large flames rising in the night sky.
