Jamshedpur, Jan 21: Police recovered one more girl by arresting a man involved in the Ghurabandha human trafficking case.
This time, the victim was recovered from Kashouli district of Rajasthan where she had been married to a middle-aged man belonging to the Gujjar community.
The man who was arrested has been identified as Kamar Singh Parihar (38) is a resident of Madhya Pradesh and had played a role of the victim’s brother while getting her married with the Gujjar in December.
Revealing about the breakthrough, SSP M Tamil Vanan said that during the interrogation of the arrested person, they came to know that the gang which is running the human trafficking racket has managed to lure several girls from other states also, including Chhattisgarh and Odisha, for getting them subject to forced marriage in Rajasthan where the male-female ratio is absurd.
“We have succeeded in recovering four of the five girls trafficked from Ghurabandha to Madhya Pradesh following getting an FIR on January 5. A team of Ghurabandha police is camping in Madhya Pradesh for tracing out the remaining one victim, ” said Vanan.
The SSP said the fifth victim is also suspected to have been shifted from Madhya Pradesh to Rajasthan and the police will reach the victim soon.
The police had on January 15 arrested five persons, including a woman for trafficking five girls from Ghurabandha in the Ghatshila subdivision of the East Singhbhum district. In this connection, the Ghurabandha police had registered a case on January 5 on the basis of an FIR lodged by the father of one of the girls.
While arresting the five accused, the police had recovered three of the trafficked girls from Madhya Pradesh.
