Ranchi, Sept.28: A girl jumped from a running auto-rickshaw after being suspicious about the intention of its driver.

A locality resident rescued her from near a pond on Nayasarai Ring Road under Nagri police station area and informed the police. Police admitted her to a private hospital, Rinchi Hospital, where she is out of any danger.

A police official confirmed the incident saying that the girl, who stayed at her friend’s residence last night, had boarded the auto-rickshaw at Simalia and returned to her residence at Jagannathpur.

“Apparently the driver chose an alternative route to reach the destination and the girl became suspicious. She jumped from the auto-rickshaw out of fear,” the police official said.

Asked whether the auto-rickshaw could be located, the police official said: “Attempt is on to locate the auto-rickshaw to ascertain whether the suspicion of the girl was right or our suspicion is right. The girl is alright now.”

The police official said he was facing difficulty in locating the auto-rickshaw. “As there is no CCTV camera in the locality, we are facing a problem and using conventional methods to locate the vehicles,” the official said.

S.P(rural) Naushad Alam said he was ‘taking updates.’
