New Delhi, May 8: The aviation watchdog DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) ordered the financially troubled Go First to immediately stop all direct and indirect ticket sales pending further instructions.
As a result of the budget carrier’s failure to continue operating the service in a safe, effective, and dependable manner, the watchdog has also issued a show cause notice to it, according to the applicable sections of the 1937 Aircraft Rules, the source added.
The airline operator has been asked to respond within 15 days of receiving this notification, after which a decision will be made regarding whether or not to renew their Air Operators Certificate (AOC).
Earlier, the airline announced that it will stop selling tickets until May 15 and cancel all flights until May 12.
