Ranchi, Oct 29: Jharkhand Police on Saturday solved the mystery behind firing on a businessman on October 21 in the heart of the state capital. It was the outcome of greed of a businessman to double money within half an hour.
Senior superintendent of police of Ranchi Kaushal Kishore shared the mystery after arresting three in this connection and organizing a press conference at his office. Those arrested included Chandan Das, Aman Kumar and Abdul Nabi Syed. All the criminals have been arrested from Bengal and Ranchi. The police have recovered other items including the bike used in the incident from them.
SSP said the businessman, Sanjay Choudhary, who runs a plywood shop, Mangalam Plywood, had friendship with one Aman Kumar aka Guddu, who shared with him a plan to double money within half an hour.
Choudhary got convinced with the words of Guddu. After Choudhary got convinced and the date of October 21 was fixed to implement the money doubling plan, Guddu made a loot plan.
On October 21 Choudhary called Saurabh Saboo to his shop with a bag containing Rs 13 lakh cash to get it doubled. As Saurabh reached, criminals keeping a tab on the movement shared the information to commit loot.
Guddu accompanied by one Abdul Nabi Sayyed and other criminals also reached Choudhary’s shop. When talk was on to implement the money doubling plan, other criminals involved in the crime also came to the scene.
Criminals attempted to snatch the bag at gun point. When Choudhary and Saboo put up resistance, one of the criminals opened fire which hit Saboo. Criminals failed to take money but escaped.
SP (City) Anshuman Kumar said one more is involved in the crime. “Picture will be clearer when one more involved in the crime will be arrested. Meanwhile there is no doubt that the crime was the outcome of greed,” Kumar said.
