Gumla: Minor tribal girl student raped, becomes pregnant, case registered

Gumla, July 23: A case of rape with a minor tribal girl student has come to light in the district. Class 10th student is five months pregnant. The girl student was admitted to Gumla Sadar Hospital in critical condition where she was discharged after treatment for a few days. In this case, the student has lodged an FIR at Gumla police station. In the FIR, the girl student has accused a boy (16 years) in the village of forcibly raping her and impregnating her. After the case was registered, the accused is absconding.

According to the FIR, the accused always used to molest her on the way from home to school. He used to threaten to kill if he protested. On February 20, 2023, when she was going home from school, taking advantage of the deserted place, the minor boy forcibly raped the girl student. At the same time, he threatened the girl student that if she told anything to anyone, he would kill her parents. Due to fear, the student did not tell anything to anyone. On July 18, 2023, suddenly the victim started having stomach pain. Then she gave complete information about the incident to his mother. After investigation, it was found that the minor is pregnant.
