Varanasi, May 24: The Varanasi district court set the next hearing date for the Shringar Gauri-Gyanvapi case for May 26. Both sides were allowed to file objections to the commission’s survey report, according to the court.
Both parties would have to file objections to the commission’s report within seven days.
The court had just finished hearing arguments in the case and had reserved its decision. Judge AK Vishvesh of the district court had finished hearing both Hindu and Muslim submissions.
In court, all four Hindu petitioners were present. Advocate Vishu Jain, who represents Hindu petitioners seeking worshipping privileges within the mosque due to claims of a Shivling, said the court would hear the the Muslim side’s application whether the case is maintainable on May 26.
The court stated that the civil judge (senior division) decision of May 19 inviting complaints from both sides is still in place, and that both parties are encouraged to submit objections to the advocate commission report.
