New Delhi, April 11: On Monday morning, state government’s official Twitter was targeted just days after Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s office was hacked. On the feed, there were a slew of random posts. Later, the account was restored.

After hackers took over the Punjab Congress’s Twitter account, various postings were sent out, naming random persons. Over 184 thousand people follow the account.

Notably, the accounts of the IMD (India Meteorological Department) and the UGC (University Grants Commission) have also been hacked in the last two days.

When some anonymous hackers wrote a long series of meaningless tweets tagging numerous unknown people, the UGC Twitter account was hacked. The UGC account has more than 2,96,000 followers, while the IMD account has more than 246,000. Who hacked these accounts has yet to be determined.
