Hazaribagh, July 11: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today nabbed a Mukhiya, Suman Kumar, of Gangtiyahi village under the Barkatha police station area, taking a bribe of Rs 4,000. Legal action has been taken in this regard by registering a case at the bureau’s office in Hazaribag.
According to information, one Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Jhurjhuri of Wadi Barkatha, had given an application to the ACB against Suman for demanding a bribe of Rs 5,000. According to the complaint, Suman was allotted a work related to the construction of Dobha on his land in Gangtiyahi village under the MNREGA scheme. The total project cost was Rs 4 lakh 86 thousand and 569. The construction of Dobha was completed for which Mukesh had received a payment of Rs 1 lakh 60 thousand and 80. When he met Mukhiya Suman Kumar to sign the master roll for the withdrawal of the remaining money, a demand of Rs 5,000 was made for this work.
Mukesh contacted the Superintendent of Police of ACB in Hazaribag for necessary action. In relation to the application, verification was duly done and in the verification report, the demand for a bribe was found to be true making the bureau register a case 6/2023 against Mukhiya on July 10. A trap was laid and Suman Kumar was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 on Tuesday.
