Barkagaon, Nov 28: The Adani Foundation on Monday distributed nutritional kits among 60 TB patients in the second phase under the Gondalpura mining project. Earlier, on September 22, nutrition kits were distributed among them in the first phase.
This kit, distributed under the Pradhan Mantri Nikshay Poshan Yojana, included diet ingredients like Horlicks, Chyawanprash, Dal, Chana, Jaggery, Moong and Mustard oil etc. All these patients are financially weak and have been adopted by the Adani Foundation.
Addressing the program organized at the Community Health Center in Barkagaon, Chief Guest Hazaribag District Tuberculosis Officer RK Jaiswal said that this effort of the Adani Foundation is highly commendable. He said that the cooperation of the Adani Foundation will help in the efforts to reduce the number of TB patients. He also informed common people about the symptoms of TB and suggested ways to prevent it.
Medical Officer in-charge of Barkagaon Dr BN Prasad, who was present in the program, appealed to the ordinary people not to hide diseases like TB. “Right treatment at the right time can get rid of TB forever,” he added.
District Program Coordinator Tipu Sultan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of making the country TB-free by the year 2025, in which such efforts will pay off. Appreciating this initiative of the Adani Foundation, he said that after this program, more companies working in this area will come forward for TB patients in the coming days. This effort of the Foundation will prove to be a milestone.
General Manager and Site Head of Adani Enterprises Limited Dharmendra Dubey said that public welfare works are being done continuously by the Adani Foundation. The Adani Foundation team is excited to take up more CSR initiatives.
