Ramgarh, June 24: Constable Pankaj Kumar Das, posted in Urimari OP of Hazaribagh district, was shot dead in the Bhurkunda OP area of Ramgarh district last night. He was murdered near Sayal 10 number mine on the way to Sayal from Saunda Basti at around 10 pm on Friday night. Local people informed the Bhurkunda police about a dead body and a bike lying near the 10-number mine.
When the police reached the spot, the young man lying on the road had already died. In the police investigation, the deceased was identified as Pankaj Kumar Das, father-Dhiraj Ram, from the ID card and bike found with the deceased. His house is in Sankul village of Patratu police station area.
Police recovered a bike with bullet casings from the spot. Blood was strewn near the body of the deceased. He got married in the month of May last year.
Bullet marks were found on his head. The possibility is being expressed that Pankaj Kumar Das has been shot four to five in his head due to which he died. By the time the Bhurkunda police reached the spot, he had died. The police seized the body and the bike present there and took it with them, as well as the investigation of the case has been started. At present, the body of the deceased has been kept at the Ramgarh mortuary for postmortem. On Saturday morning a large number of people gathered at Bhurkunda OP. They were demanding the immediate arrest of all accused.
