Hazaribag, Nov.10: Many trees have dried up in the lake area in front of the official residence of the Commissioner of North Chhotanagapur Commissionerate, DIG, DC and DDC in Hazaribag but authorities are yet to wake up.
Social worker Devendra Singh Deo has identified many such dry trees in the lake area which is a famous spot drawing huge footfall around the day.
Talking to lagatar24.com this morning, Deo said if no action is taken id immediately, it can result in a big incident here. “When these senior administrative officers are not even concerned about their own safety then what about the common man,” he asked.
Hazaribag lake is a cluster of four lakes and is known for its natural beauty and greenery. Due to this, it is referred to as the green lung supplying oxygen to the town. “Every morning, people come here in large numbers for a morning walk and they are under threat,” Deo said.
A few days ago, a dry tree fell near Indrapuri chowk damaging a car. Fortunately, no one was present there at that time.
Deo has drawn the attention of the DC and forest department regarding this matter but no step has been taken yet in this regard.
“Now, I am surveying the lake area to identify the dry trees and soon give a detail report to the officials for action,” Deo added.
