Hazaribag, Feb.11: The English Department at the Vinoba Bhave University organised a daylong photo exhibition to spread awareness on blood donation. A total of 27 students participated in the exhibition and displayed their works and were praised for it.
The President of the voluntary blood donors’ association, Nirmal Jain told Lagatar24.com that around 55 people donated blood during the exhibition.
“Many contacted us and showed their willingness to donate blood in the coming days. This is a noble work. By this you can save lives and feel satisfied,” added he.
The winners of the photo exhibition are Priya Kumari, Astha Apurwa, and Anushka Rani, students of the department of engineering and technology.
Rinku Mahto and Manisha Kumari got fourth and fifth place respectively.
Jain felicitated winners by giving them mementoes. Addressing students, Jain said such events should be organised regularly to encourage people to blood donation.
“There is a myth that blood donation results in weakness. But the fact is that there are a number of benefits to the body if you donate blood,” he informed.
Dr Purushottam said he and his students regularly take part in social activities. “We will organise such events in future as well,” he added.
