Hazaribag, Nov 22: Seven girls including four minors escaped from the correctional home run by Samarpan Trust, an NGO at Kallu Chowk of the town late Monday night. All seven girls belonged to different places including Delhi, Patratu (Ramgarh), Barkagaon, Keredari, Barhi and Tatijharia.

Officer-in-charge of Lohsigna police station Arvind Kumar confirmed the incident and said the search was on.

When contacted, correctional home superintendent Poonam Sahu did not give many details about the incident. It is not clear yet how the girls escaped from the home despite a guard there. Another version by some people suggests that they forced the guard to open the gate and escape.

Poonam Sahu and project manager Indramani Sahu said they will provide all details tomorrow.

A total of 14 girls lived in this centre which is funded by the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development.

Police officials said three CCTV cameras are installed here and they are checking the footage to get details related to this escape.
