Hazaribag, June 6: Thieves have stolen cash and jewellery worth Rs 4 lakh from a locked house in the posh Panchsheel Colony under the Katkamdag police station area on Monday late night. In this regard, the owner of the house, Arjun Chaudhary, has registered a case at the Katkamdag police station.
Thieves also made an attempt to commit a theft in the house of advocate Satya Prakash in the same colony. But as Satya woke up, it foiled the plan of the thieves.
According to the written complaint of Arjun Chaudhary, he had gone to Purnia in Bihar two days ago for some work. Meanwhile, on Monday late at night, thieves entered his house from the backside breaking the cupboard and stole all the valuables. Thieves took Rs 70,000 in cash and Rs 3 lakh 30 thousand jewellery which includes bracelets, nose rings, necklaces etc. He got information about this theft at around 5:30 am on Tuesday. Chaudhary is a teacher at Sariya’s Girls High School in Giridih and has been living in Panchsheel Colony since 2020 by constructing a house.

After committing the theft at Chuadhary’s house, thieves were scaling the wall of the advocate Satya’s house. But as Satya saw him climbing the wall, he got alert, making the two thieves escape from there on a bike. Satya has shot the video of the thieves on the run. He even called the police station at 11:40 pm and informed them about the theft. After this, the police immediately reached Panchsheel Colony and started a search operation. But taking advantage of the darkness, thieves managed to escape from there.
In the town, snatching and house robberies are taking place frequently raising fingers on the working of men-in-khaki. Police officials said they are probing the case and thieves will be arrested soon.
