Hazaribag, Oct 15: Villagers of Jhinjhurbeda in Chanho panchayat of Vishnugarh block are fed with hollow promises of officials to representatives so decided to solve the decade-old problem through ‘shramdan’.
With the village having no proper road to connect it to other places, they picked up spades to make a 3 km long stretch ending their all woes.
Villagers said in the lack of roads, they face trouble in the evening taking a patient to the nearest hospital. “We face trouble every day due to no road and so requested officials to representatives to look into our problem and solve it at the earliest. But no action was taken in this regard yet.”
AJSU party leader Rupendra Mahto said villagers here facing trouble in the lack of road. The worst they face on rainy days and so what they are doing is the demand of the time.
Finally, villagers sat together and discussed the problem and lackadaisical attitude of the system. They decided to make a proper road and yesterday their work from Friday.
“We will clean and make this 3 km stretch motorable in the next few days,” said Devki Mehta, one of the villagers. “Hamari samasya ka hamne nidan dundh hi liya (We found the solution to our problems),” added other villagers.
