Ramgarh, May 25: Member of Parliament-cum-Chairman Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance Jayant Sinha met Governor of Jharkhand Ramesh Bais on Wednesday and discussed in detail various issues related to Hazaribagh parliamentary constituency and Jharkhand.
MP Jayant Sinha urged the Governor to provide 50 acres of land to develop Vinoba Bhave University as an education city. The Governor assured him to take necessary action on this matter.
The MP has been trying for a long time to make an education city in Hazaribagh. He has also urged the state government to consider the project for its construction in the past.
He said, “Vinoba Bhave University Hazaribagh is one of the biggest universities of Jharkhand. Along with this, there are other prestigious educational institutions here like St. Columba Mahavidyalaya, Krishna Vallabh Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Ananda Mahavidyalaya and Markham College of Commerce. Colleges located in Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Giridih, Koderma and Chatra districts also come under this university.”
“The standard of education here is so good that along with this division, thousands of students from other districts also come here to study. With the construction of the medical college, Hazaribagh is emerging as a hub of education. To channel the talents of these students and to provide them with all the means and a conducive environment, it would be appropriate to build an education city in Hazaribagh. This project will be the first of its kind in Jharkhand and will set an example for other states,” added MP Jayant Sinha.
He further said that it is the good fortune of Vinoba Bhave University that there are 3 acres of fallow land between AIR and AIR adjacent to the Law College and about 200 acres of fallow land in the west direction of the University.
If this land is made available to the university, it will help a lot in the development of education here for the coming 50-100 years. If this university can provide a higher education system to the children of the rural areas of Hazaribagh here, it will be a big contribution to the development of the area. The new courses offered by this university will not only lead to the academic development of the students but will also increase employment and self-employment opportunities.
Jayant Sinha has requested the Governor to make at least 50 acres of land available to Vinoba Bhave University from the vacant land on the west side of the university. He said that new energy is obtained by getting the guidance of the Governor. “His cooperation has always been available in accelerating the multifaceted development of the Hazaribagh parliamentary constituency,” he said.
