Hazaribagh: Police arrest three TPC militants with arms and ammunition

Ramgarh, March 29: The Hazaribagh Police arrested three TPC militants with arms and ammunition, mobiles and organization’s uniform from the forest of village Khapia under Giddi police station.

 

The police received information that a squad of TPC militants was seen for two-three days in the forests around Khapia under Giddi police station.

 

This squad had opened fire on March 2 near the Kanta Ghar of Religada Colliery. It was feared that these people may once again carry out some big incident in the region.

 

An operation was prepared with the battalion of CRPF regarding the matter in which a team was formed involving the CRPF and the special raiding team of the district and the Giddi police station.

 

A search operation was conducted in the forest around village Khapia.  During this campaign, 5 to 6 people in suspicious condition were seen talking in the light of mobile phones on the banks of an unpaved trail near the forest outside the village.

 

Based on the message, the police started surrounding them. But after sensing the arrival of the police, everyone started running towards the forest.

 

The police chased and caught three people, while two others managed to escape by taking advantage of the forest as it was night.

 

The names of the arrested TPC members are Munilal Mahto alias Dharmendra, Rahul Ganjhu alias Soren and Mahendra Ganjhu alias Palta.

 

One country-made semi-automatic carbine, two country-made pistols and 10 live bullets, three mobile phones and TPC militant outfit’s uniform were recovered from these three. A case has been registered in this regard at Giddi police station.

 

In the course of interrogation, the arrested militants, while giving the names and addresses of the two militants who managed to escape, also admitted that on March 2, they had opened fire at the Kanta Ghar of Religada Colliery under Giddi police station for the purpose of demanding levy.

 

Along with this, the names of other TPC militants have also been mentioned in this incident. It is known that there are more than a dozen cases against the arrested accused Munni Lal Mahto alias Dharmendra, a dozen cases against the arrested accused Rahul Ganjhu alias Soren, while one and a half dozen cases are registered against the arrested accused Mahendra Ganjhu alias Palta.
