Hazaribagh: Three minors drown while bathing in Rehda Dam

Ramgarh, Aug 22: Three children died due to drowning in the Rehda Dam of Meru Muffasil police station area of Daru block under Hazaribagh district at 3 pm on Sunday.

The three children were identified as sons of soldiers serving in the BSF. Among those who drowned were Anshu Raj (13), Devesh Kumar (16) and Raghu Rajak (13).

According to information, five kids went to the dam to bathe. Anshu, Devesh and Raghu went inside the water while the other two stayed outside.

On seeing the three drowning, the other two children went to the villagers and informed them about the incident.

Devesh and Anshu were fished out by the villagers and were taken to Sadar Hospital and Arogyam Hospital respectively. However, they died during treatment.

The third child was rescued by the BSF team hours later. All three bodies were later taken to Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
