Health Minister meets Chatra acid attack victim, asks Medical Board to issue health bulletin every 12 hours

Ranchi, Aug 30: Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta today met Kajal Kumari, the victim of an acid attack in Chatra, and inquired about the incident from the victim’s family and relatives.

He directed RIMS Superintendent Dr Hiren Biruva to take all necessary steps for the treatment of the victim and to arrange for the required medicines.

The health minister also constituted a Medical Board under the leadership of the RIMS Superintendent and directed that the medical bulletins should be issued every 12 hours. The Medical Board will consist of RIMS Superintendent Dr Hiren Biruva, HOD of the Surgery Department, HOD of the Eye Department and HOD of the Burn Department.

Apart from this, the health minister spoke to the Ranchi DC Rahul Sinha and directed to ensure arrangements for airlifting the victim if needed.

The incident happened on Aug 5 in Dhebo village under Daha Panchayat in the Hunterganj police station area of Chatra when an eccentric lover attacked Kajal and his sleeping mother with acid causing severe burns to them.
