Jamshedpur, May 9: The heat conditions would make a comeback after a fortnight of pleasant weather, warned the weathermen today.
In its forecast, IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre predicted a two to three-degree rise in day temperature in the next 72 – hours.
Meteorological statistics revealed that the maximum temperature has again crossed an oppressive 40 degrees Celsius at several places across Jharkhand including Daltonganj, Godda, Deoghar and several parts of Kolhan including Jamshedpur.
“The skies will be clear and the weather conditions will be dry till May 10-11,” Ranchi Meteorological Centre in-charge Abhishek Anand said.
Godda district recorded the highest maximum temperature of 41.7 degrees Celsius on Monday, a jump of three degree Celsius from Sunday.
The weather department predicted that the maximum temperature in Ranchi may reach 40 degrees Celsius by May 11.
Notably, parts of Jharkhand witnessed heatwave conditions between April 10 and April 21, with the maximum temperatures crossing 40 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state.
The state got some respite after April 22 with spells of rain and thundershowers. The state received 27 mm of rain in the last week of April against the normal rainfall of 19.8 mm.
