Ranchi: The southwest monsoon has now become fully active in Jharkhand, with the India Meteorological Department forecasting light to moderate rain, thunder, and lightning across most districts of the state for the next five days. Temperatures are expected to drop by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius, bringing relief from heat and humidity. Cloudy conditions will persist until July 2.
District-Wise Alert
On June 29 and 30, districts including Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, and Latehar are likely to see strong winds, thunderstorms, and lightning. On June 30 and July 1, heavy rainfall is expected in Koderma, Giridih, Dhanbad, Ranchi, Bokaro, Khunti, Ramgarh, East and West Singhbhum, and parts of Seraikela-Kharsawan.
Recent Rainfall Data
On Sunday, Sikatia in Deoghar recorded the highest rainfall at 54 mm. Ranchi experienced light rain, while Daltonganj remained the hottest place in the state at 40.7 degrees Celsius.
Five Deaths in Lightning Strikes
Lightning claimed five lives across Jharkhand on Saturday and Sunday. Two deaths each were reported in Lohardaga, West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, and Garhwa, while a two-and-a-half-year-old girl lost her life in the Kairo police station area.
