Jamshedpur, Aug 13: Several areas in western and central Jharkhand are expected to experience heavy showers today, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
The local forecast for Ranchi suggested few spells of rains and thunder showers activity. The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through close to Ranchi.
Satellite pictures indicated a cyclonic circulation over the Gangetic Bengal extending 3.1 Km above the mean sea level.
Weathermen said a fresh low pressure area building over the Bay of Bengal would impact Jharkhand after the next 24 hours .
According to weathermen, some isolated areas of southern and central Jharkhand was expected to get heavy rains on Sunday
Meanwhile, the rainfall during the past few days resulted in a drop in state’s rain deficit figure. The deficit rain as of today stood at 40 per cent. Against a normal of 637.6 mm, the state has so far received 374.1 mm.
