Ranchi: Hemant Soren is set to take oath as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand in a grand ceremony at Ranchi’s Morabadi Ground on Thursday, November 28. The oath-taking ceremony, scheduled at 4 PM, will be administered by Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar.
Congress general secretary and Jharkhand in-charge, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, confirmed that Hemant Soren will take the oath alone, with cabinet expansion planned after a vote of confidence in the assembly.

Preparations and Public Appeal
Hemant Soren visited the venue on Wednesday to oversee preparations and expressed his gratitude for the presence of esteemed leaders. “It’s heartening to have such esteemed leaders join us for this important occasion,” he said.
Posters celebrating the event have been displayed across Ranchi, and special security and traffic arrangements have been made for the grand ceremony. Soren has also invited the public to join the event, sharing a live-stream link for those unable to attend in person.
Historic Fourth Term
This marks Hemant Soren’s fourth term as Jharkhand’s Chief Minister. In the recent assembly elections, he retained his Barhait seat by defeating BJP’s Gamliyel Hembrom with a margin of 39,791 votes.
Soren’s JMM-led alliance secured a decisive victory, winning 56 seats in the 81-member assembly, while the BJP-led NDA managed only 24 seats.
