VISHVENDU JAIPURIAR

Hazaribag, March 20: Four persons have been on a hunger strike for the last five days in protest of the administration’s decision to impose Section 144, and a complete ban on DJ music and the use of traditional weapons during the Mangla procession.

Ajay Kumar Singh’s condition deteriorated as a result of the hunger strike, and doctors recommended that he be admitted to the hospital immediately. However, Ajay refused it until the above orders were withdrawn.

All the four were seated near the main Bada Akhara temple. The health team arrived at the protest site yesterday and a health test of the unwell fasting individuals was performed.

Sadar MLA Manish Jaiswal arrived at the protest site after learning about the deteriorating health of the four people.  He tried to persuade them, but none agreed. According to the people on hunger strike,  Hazaribag’s Ramnavami is quite popular, and the government is trying to end this festival here by passing such orders. One of them added that if the government does not reconsider their decision, more people will join the agitation in the coming days.
