While he will be the face of the Congress, he will not be officially declared as the party’s Chief Ministerial candidate. After the elections, Congress President Sonia Gandhi will make a decision on the Chief Minister if the party is elected to power.
Rawat met Gandhi two days after making a veiled attack on the Congress leadership ahead of assembly polls in Uttarakhand over the lack of cooperation from the state unit.
