New Delhi, July 6: The ICC Test rankings have undergone a significant amount of change as a result of England and India’s performances in the Edgbaston Test. With their highest-ever successful chase in Test cricket, England won the game by 7 wickets. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow, the champions of that pursuit, are currently ranked in the top ten hitters.
Bairstow rose 11 spots to teach in the 10th position, while Root solidified his position at the top of the rankings. In the match, India’s Rishabh Pant also hit a century and a half, moving him up five spots to a career-best fifth place.
In the two innings of the Test, Virat Kohli, who is still having trouble with his form, managed to score on 11 and 20. He now occupies the 13th slot after falling out of the Top 10 as a result. Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, dropped one spot to ninth after missing the game.
With a five for in the first innings of the most recent Test against India, James Anderson contributed to keeping England in the game and has since taken 17 wickets in three Tests since his recall.
In the Test bowling rankings, the resurgent pace bowler moves up one spot to sixth. The top 10 Test all-rounders have not changed, but Australia’s Cameron Green has moved up three slots to number 14, putting him closer to making his debut appearance.
