Ranchi, May 20: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has signed an agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi’s I-Hub Foundation for Robotics (IHFC) and Technology Innovation Hub (TIH).
Under this, IIT Delhi will prepare courses in robotics, machine learning, data science and artificial intelligence for schools in the country contracted by the CISCE board.
More than 1000 schools in the country and abroad are associated with this board, which also includes Bishop Westcott High Schools, Bishop School, Don Bosco, St Anthony’s and St Francis Schools in the capital city.
Even though no official information has been given to the schools in Ranchi yet, a St Anthony’s teacher, on the condition of not mentioning their name said, “CISCE will be helped by IHFC of IIT Delhi in designing curriculum to strengthen 21st-century skills. For this, aspects of the new education policy will also be prepared for the students.”
“Apart from this, IHFC has offered CISCE to introduce courses prepared in Science, Technology, Electronics and Mathematics by linking it to the New Education Policy 2020. Based on these courses, children will be provided with AI and Robotics subjects,” they continued.
The teacher believes that CISCE will launch Robotics and Artificial Intelligence subjects for students in classes 9-10 and 11-12, to make students ready for better opportunities in future.
IHFC also plans to share the guidelines and implementation of the new curriculum in 2700 schools in the country affiliated with CISCE. According to the officials of Bishop Westcott, CISCE has always given students the flexibility to choose subjects, and education diversity, as per their abilities and preferences.
