Ranchi, May 20: Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda has said that the Amrit Sarovar to be built in every district should be such that it can meet the needs of the next generation.
“We need to pay special attention to water conservation. Also, keep in mind that there should not be any obstruction in the natural water source of the lake. Buildings are being built in cities, it should be stopped,” Munda said on Friday.
A virtual meeting was held with regard to this with Deputy Commissioners and other senior officers of Khunti, Simdega, Gumla, Seraikela Kharsawan, Chaibasa and Ranchi under Khunti Lok Sabha.
Munda inquired about the programmes being organised in these districts on the occasion of Martyrdom Day of Lord Birsa Munda on June 9. He urged to organise a programme in all the districts on the occasion of International Yoga Day on June 21, in which youth should participate.
He added that all these are tribal-dominated and aspirational districts. For employment, education, health and infrastructure in these districts, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs in collaboration with other ministries can plan and provide necessary resources.
To improve the communication system in Jharkhand from 2G to 4G, the Centre has given permission to install 450 towers, he added.
He also said that the Deputy Commissioners should coordinate with each other and make proper arrangements for marketing of agricultural and forest products and connect people with livelihood.
Food processing industries can also be set up. He said that he is ready to ask help from the central government. He added that special emphasis has been laid on education through regional languages in the new education policy.
