IMD forecasts clear and dry weather in Jharkhand today

Jamshedpur, May 4:  As per the forecast of IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre, clear and dry weather is expected to prevail in Jharkhand from today.

No weather alerts have been issued for tomorrow. However, in their sector-wise forecast weathermen hinted at thunderstorm activity at one or two places over eastern parts of the state.

IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre also predicted a gradual rise in maximum temperature in the next 72- hours.

Statistics indicated that the day’s temperature was at a comfortable level across the state in the past 24- hours.

Ranchi recorded around 29 degrees Celsius yesterday while the local IMD observatory in Jamshedpur recorded 33 degrees.

Ramgarh, Garhwa, Giridih and several other districts recorded less than 35 degrees Celsius.

Satellite pictures suggested that a trough runs from cyclonic circulation over Northeast Rajasthan to west Bihar across Uttar Pradesh extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.

Light to moderate rain occurred at isolated places over the state during the past 24- hours.

The highest rainfall recorded was 26.4 mm at Chaibasa (West Singhbhum).

The highest maximum temperature of 36.1°C was recorded at Godda while the lowest minimum temperature of  22.2°C was recorded at Ranchi.
